Medical Expert and Physician Legal Training Course

Las Vegas, Nevada — May 18-19, 2007

Course History and Format

The Medical Expert and Physician Legal Training Course is entering its third year with even more exciting and practical information.  The course is designed to give physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and physician assistants comprehensive insight into their many roles in the legal world of medico-legal reporting, legal testimony and medical malpractice.  Attendees from the United States and Canada have described previous courses as two days of intensive legal training for the medical professional.  Physicians who work as medical experts or who are interested in learning how to become medical experts have been impressed with the course faculty’s experience and skill in covering the areas vital to the medical expert.

Because course registration is limited, the attendees are provided ample time to interact with the speakers on a one to one basis.  This enables them to have all their questions answered concerning specific aspects ofProf. R. Collin Mangrum medical expert practice that are important to them as individuals.

One of the most valuable aspects of the course is the many real world examples and anecdotes, which the faculty use to illustrate the challenges associated with medical testimony.  Often funny, and sometimes tragic, mistakes in written reports and during depositions and in court testimony nevertheless serve as lessons for physicians who wish to avoid the traps and pitfalls unique to the difficult business of medico-legal work.
